German Rivera

Experience
Germán Rivera is a prominent lawyer with a solid track record in legal advice and litigation, representing public and private sector entities in constitutional proceedings such as amparos, unconstitutionalities, account trials, contentious-administrative proceedings and national and international arbitration. His arbitration experience includes roles as arbitrator and counsel in cases related to the construction of large projects under FIDIC contracts, renewable energies, telecommunications, insurance and investments. In addition, he advises on the management and acquisition of real estate assets and the development of large-scale projects.
His professional practice includes representation of international organizations such as UNHCR, the European Union and UNOPS, among others. In the public sector, he has held important technical positions, including secretary of proceedings of the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice, counsel of the same Chamber and jurisdictional sub-director of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, where he stood out for his technical and legal rigor.
In the academic field, Germán Rivera has been a full professor for more than two decades in key subjects such as Constitutional Law, Constitutional Processes, Integration Law and Free Trade Agreements, teaching in undergraduate, masters and doctoral programs at renowned national and international universities. Currently, he is a full professor at the Escuela Superior de Economía y Negocios de El Salvador (ESEN) and, since 2020, he is responsible for the area of Constitutional Law in the postdoctoral courses of the Mediterranean International Center for Human Rights Research (MICHR) of the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria, Italy. His academic contribution is distinguished by his practical approach and deep knowledge in the field of constitutional law and human rights, strengthening the capacities of practitioners and academics at the international level.
