Melissa Alvarenga
Melissa has worked for over 6 years in two “big four” companies; Deloitte El Salvador and EY Guatemala. Through her work, she has gained experience in both countries in the field of tax law, assisting multinational companies in matters related to tax defense, as well as supporting the preparation of legal reports pertaining to the tax implications of local and international operations which may be subject to analysis. Her experience ranges from providing legal consultancy at the inspection stage, the formulation of responses during the evidentiary stage, the hearing and opening of evidence at the General Directorate of Internal Revenue, leading up to the filing of appeals with the Court of Appeals for Internal Revenue and Customs.
Furthermore, she possesses experience as a strategic attorney in contentious-administrative and constitutional processes vis-a-vis tax-related matters in El Salvador, having achieved several favorable outcomes.
