Miguel Peñailillo López

Miguel is a strategist with more than thirty years of experience at the intersection of law, public policy, and business management, specializing in safeguarding the sustainability of large corporations against the risks of fraud and corruption. His value proposition centers on the design and implementation of corporate integrity and compliance models in accordance with the most rigorous global standards; he has advised governments and companies in more than fifteen Latin American countries, including El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Honduras. He is currently involved in regional initiatives to strengthen the investment climate through high-quality compliance training in partnership with the Spanish Compliance Association (ASCOM) and as an associate consultant to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), evaluating integrity frameworks in Latin American countries, including Costa Rica, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. He also provides advisory services to Transparency International’s multi-country projects.

Experience

He has advised companies, governments, and international organizations on compliance solutions, anti-corruption policies, and strengthening the rule of law in more than a dozen Latin American countries. With a highly interdisciplinary background, he applies the most rigorous international standards to tailor compliance models to the specific needs of companies and organizations. In addition, he consistently applies his diplomatic, professional, and technical expertise to integrate law, policy, and business management with the current challenges faced by companies, with the aim of strengthening corporate governance, internal control systems, and the prevention of fraud and corruption.
