From a collective or sectoral standpoint, public policies -or the lack thereof- are the decisions that carry the most weight with regards to the conditions under which private activities are conducted. Knowing how to interpret their effects on private activities, participating in their design or consultations in an informed manner, or submitting alternatives to government proposals are activities that require specialized counsel.
